Giving is simply the release of one’s resources (infinitely anything that is derived from you) whether it be time, money, effort, physical objects, words of encouragement, or advice. Every second of our lives operates under this principle of giving whether we are aware of it or not.

For example, I gave my resources (as defined above) to the air that I breathe, to taking a shower, to speaking with my friends, to writing this article, to watching television, to typing a single letter on my keyboard. It took a premeditated giving up of my resources for me to devote my entire being to type one single letter on my keyboard. It’s amazing isn’t it? What was the result of my giving?

Well, I’m still alive, I’m clean, I’ve received encouragement from my friends, an article was written, I was informed about what’s happening in the world, one letter was produced on my computer screen. You see we live and die by this principle everyday and it is what you do with this principle that will determine the results you see in your life. If you want something or if you have a goal, what resources are you going to give in order to see it done? There is no possible way that we can expect something without first giving something.

What reality are you creating today at this very moment? I dare you to change the next ten seconds of your life, make that an hour, how about a day or week or month or year into something that is meaningful and purposeful. Wow, ten seconds has just gone by. What did you do? What impact did you just make in the last ten seconds of reading this article? I’ll tell you. You were engaged in the back end of the law which says we are to receive what measure we give.

By giving your resources to this article, you were able to sharpen your skills by gaining insight on the law of giving. There is no telling what possibilities that could have possibly been release by simply reading this article. Inspiration is the key to releasing the limitless potential inside an individual. It’s like replacing the bulb in a dark room. The brighter it shines the more I am able to see. And the more you see the more of a reality it becomes to you.

The decisions you make in life will determine your success in life. For whatever measure you give, it will be given back to you in the same. If I am giving out resources that are not useful to those I encounter then I can only expect the same unusable resources to return. Therefore it is my desire to be consistent in my giving with pureness of heart.

The mystery of giving is that often times we do not know what we will receive. Nevertheless, the gift that unexpectancy gives, awards joy unimaginable to the unconditional giver.
